The 1920s were well known as the Roarin Twenties for a number of reasons. The main reason was that Canada became much developed. Railways were expanding and new roadstead were built to carry inexpensive cars. Along with the first time period chance to buy on an instalment plan, which meant there was more money to spend on new use science to founder life easier, such as cars, radios, appliances, and telephones. The five main groups were immigrants, women, children, Aboriginals, and Maritimes and Prair ies. The immigrants and Aboriginals suffered discrimination, women and children socially, and Maritimes and Prairies economically. Therefore, in spite of the flimsy boom of the twenties, not all Canadians shared equally in the prosperity.

The Canadian Government encouraged assimilation into Canadian society, which lead most Aboriginals to forget thei r customs, speech communication, and lifest! yle. Since English was the main language, many students forgot the language of their bands. Also, Missionaries preached Christianity in the residential schools which ridiculed and suppressed the Aboriginal beliefs.
